Exporting from DTX Studio Clinic.

DTX Studio Clinic is the imaging suite for DEXIS and KaVo units (including the OP 3D and 3D LX). Both 2D images and CBCT volumes export as DICOM from the Export panel. The one thing to watch on a CBCT is the frame format — pick the option that writes a folder of slices, not the one that packs the whole volume into a single file.

Open the patient
In DTX Studio Clinic, open the patient and select the OPG image in the patient timeline.

Export the image
Click Export → Images. Select the image (click it, or drag a rectangle around it), choose DICOM (preferred) or highest-quality JPEG as the file format.

Choose a folder
Click Browse, pick Desktop or Downloads, then Export. Name it with the patient surname so it's easy to match on upload.
CBCT volumes (3D)

Open the CBCT scan
Open the patient and select the 3D (CBCT) acquisition in the timeline — do not export from a single slice view.

Export as data
Click Export → Data. Select the CBCT scan, then click Browse and choose an export folder.

Choose Single-frame DICOM — NOT the default
Under file format choose 3D DICOM, then set the frame format to 'Single-frame DICOM'. This is the step that matters most. 'Single-frame' means one slice per file, so DTX writes a folder of hundreds of .dcm files — that is what we need. The default, 'Multi-frame DICOM', packs the entire volume into one .dcm; it uploads to us without complaint and then fails when we forward the study for reporting, which costs your patient days.

Make sure 'Anonymize patient' is NOT ticked
Look at the 'Anonymize patient' option and confirm it is unticked rather than assuming it starts off. Anonymising hides the patient name, ID and date of birth, and we can't match the scan to your case without them.

Export, then check the folder
Click Export, then open the export folder: hundreds of .dcm files, one per slice, is a good export. A single large .dcm means Multi-frame was still selected — go back and redo it with Single-frame. Compress the folder to one .zip and upload that.
[ TIPS ]
- A CBCT that was imported into DTX Studio from another scanner cannot be re-exported — export from the machine that acquired it.
- Keep the full field of view — avoid cropping unless the region of interest is certain.
- 'Single-frame' sounds like it means one slice — it doesn't. It means one slice per file, so you get the whole volume as a folder of files. That is the export we need.
- A single large .dcm (a multi-frame or 'VOL' export) cannot be forwarded for reporting and will have to be exported again.
