Exporting from EzDent-i.
Also known as Vatech Ez3D-i
EzDent-i is the patient database for Vatech's PaX-i and Green CT units. Export the CBCT straight from EzDent-i — it only offers DICOM, so the result is a clean zipped slice set with nothing extra. The Ez3D-i viewer can also export, but it bundles files we don't need unless you untick them.

Select the image
In EzDent-i, open the patient chart and select the OPG.

Export
Click Export (or right-click → Export Image). Choose DICOM or highest-quality JPEG, save to Desktop.

Make the folders first
Create a folder called 'Export 3D' on the Desktop, and inside it a sub-folder named with the patient's name or chart number. This keeps every export in one place and easy to match later.

Right-click the CT scan
Open the patient in EzDent-i and RIGHT-click the CT thumbnail. Don't double-click it and don't pick 'Go to Ez3D-i' — that opens the 3D viewer, which is the fiddlier route.

Choose Export
Scroll down the right-click menu and click Export. A progress bar runs, then the EXPORT window opens listing the DICOM slices (DCT0000, DCT0001, and so on) — expect hundreds of them. A list with only one entry means the volume was written as a single multi-frame file, which we can't forward for reporting.

Set the options
Save File Type: Local Disk — not CD/DVD. Leave File Format on 'Original'. Tick 'Compress to .zip file'. Leave Password blank; if you set one you must send it to us separately or we can't open the study.

Save and upload
Click Export and choose the patient sub-folder you made. When it finishes, open that folder — it holds a single .zip containing the CT files. Upload that .zip as it is: don't unzip it or pick out individual files.
[ TIPS ]
- Exporting from EzDent-i is the reliable route — the software only offers DICOM, so there is nothing to get wrong.
- If you end up in the Ez3D-i viewer instead (Main Menu → Export), untick 'Viewer' under 'Check to Export'. It is ticked by default and adds a Windows viewer program we don't need. Leave only CT ticked and set Compression to Lossless.
- In Ez3D-i, set 'Anonymize Patient Information' to Disable. An anonymised scan can't be matched to your case.
- A single large .dcm (a multi-frame or 'VOL' export) cannot be forwarded for reporting and will have to be exported again.
