Exporting from NNT.

NNT drives NewTom Giano and VGi units. Volumes export as DICOM from the study list or an open exam.

[ Multi-slice DICOM series (.dcm) ]

CBCT volumes (3D)

  1. [ 01 ]

    Open the exam

Open the patient's CBCT exam in NNT.

  2. [ 02 ]

    Save the axial sequence

File → 'Save in DICOM format' → 'Sequence of Axial images…' → 'Free Matrix'. Don't stop at the first menu — the axial sequence is the part we report from. 'Sequence' is the operative word: it writes one .dcm per slice, which is what we need.

  3. [ 03 ]

    Choose the destination

Pick a folder on your drive, or use 'Make New Folder' to create one named after the patient so it's easy to find later. Click OK.

  4. [ 04 ]

    Wait for confirmation

When the progress bar completes you'll see 'DICOM files creation procedure successfully completed'. Click OK, then open the folder to check the .dcm files are there — expect several hundred, one per slice. A single large .dcm instead means the volume was written as one multi-frame file, which we can't forward for reporting — re-export via the axial sequence route.

  5. [ 05 ]

    Zip the folder

Compress the folder and upload the single .zip.

[ TIPS ]

  • A CBCT export is a folder of hundreds of .dcm files, one per slice — that is normal, and it is what we need. Zip the whole folder.
  • A single large .dcm (a multi-frame or 'VOL' export) cannot be forwarded for reporting and will have to be exported again.
