Exporting from Sidexis 4.
Sidexis 4 runs Orthophos and Axeos units. Panoramic images and CBCT volumes both export as DICOM — but the CBCT route is Output → DICOM Exam Export, not the Wrap&Go viewer disc that sits alongside it.

Select the exam
Open the patient's light-table, click the OPG exam once to select it.

Export
Use Export → 'Export as DICOM' (preferred) or 'Export as image file' (JPEG, highest quality).

Save somewhere findable
Export to Desktop/Downloads with the patient surname in the filename.

Open the 3D exam
Open the patient's CBCT (3D Exam) in Sidexis 4 — don't open a single slice view for export.

Choose DICOM Exam Export
Click Output at the top of the window, then 'DICOM Exam Export'. This is the route you want — NOT Wrap&Go / 'Create Viewer CD', which bundles a viewer we don't need.

Trim the Settings tab
Click the Settings tab and untick everything except 'Include main volume'.

Check the Export tab
Click the Export tab and make sure 'Anonymization' is NOT ticked — an anonymised scan can't be matched to your case.

Choose the folder and export
Click the '…' (browse) button, pick a folder on the Desktop named after the patient, click Save, then OK to start the export.

Check the folder, then zip
Open the export folder and confirm it holds hundreds of .dcm files, one per slice. If it holds a single large .dcm, the volume was written as one multi-frame file and we can't forward it for reporting — re-export. Then compress the folder to a single .zip and upload it.
[ TIPS ]
- Wrap&Go (Create Viewer CD) is the wrong tool for us — it is built to hand a patient a disc with a viewer on it. Use Output → DICOM Exam Export instead.
- A CBCT export is a folder of hundreds of .dcm files, one per slice — that is normal, and it is what we need. Zip the whole folder.
- A single large .dcm (a multi-frame or 'VOL' export) cannot be forwarded for reporting and will have to be exported again.
